
Within the framework of the College of Fisheries and Fisheries Technology’s keenness to achieve educational goals and in light of the college’s vision and mission, the college established a hatchery hall, which contains a hall for fish hatching and a fish nutrition and disease laboratory, which contains a number of laboratory equipment for teaching the practical part of the courses and to serve postgraduate students. The hatchery is located in the manufacturing and biotechnology department, which is a new section under construction.
The college also established the fish greenhouse next to the hatchery hall, which contains 20 round fiberglass tanks with a diameter of 1.7 x 1 m, 20 rectangular tanks 2 m x 1 m, and 2 air blowers to pump air with tanks. The greenhouse specializes in the following:
1-Implementation of the practical part of the decisions of the aquaculture program
2-Training students on the daily and seasonal technical operations of fish production
3-Implementation of graduation projects and research for third and fourth level students
4-Conducting scientific research in accordance with the research plan of the university and the department.
5-Providing the possibility of scientific research for postgraduate students
