Under the patronage of Prof. Loay Saad El-Din Nosrat, University President,
and Prof. Ashraf Imam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,
and under the supervision of Prof. Awatif Hamed Hamouda, Dean of the Faculty,
the Faculty organized a seminar entitled “Carbon Footprint and its Relationship to Afforestation.” This seminar was held as part of the University’s Environmental Week activities.
The seminar was attended by Prof. Loay Saad El-Din Nosrat, University President, Prof. Ashraf Imam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, as well as faculty members, teaching assistants, and students. This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to its community role in raising environmental awareness among students and encouraging them to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through a deeper understanding of climate challenges and how to address them.
The activities included a practical component, with students carrying out a field activity that involved removing weeds surrounding the Faculty’s hatchery and planting new seedlings and plants to increase green spaces. Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nosrat and Prof. Ashraf Imam were keen to participate directly with the students in the tree-planting activities, emphasizing the importance of collective action in protecting the environment and improving the quality of life on campus. This reinforces the values of belonging and environmental responsibility among the students.
The Dean of the Faculty extends her sincere thanks and appreciation to her dear students, who have proven themselves to be true partners in building a better future.
